About the Book

A portal turns Palmer into a leveling player in a world of magic and monsters. Then he learns enemy players plan to breach Earth's simulation, and stopping them may be the only way to save his world.

Book Synopsis

From the author of The Ascension Trilogy, War Golem, and The Warden's Legacy comes a new fantasy series blending LitRPG and science fiction in a fast-paced thrill ride.

Palmer never felt like more than an average high school kid-until the day he discovered the portal. One moment of reckless curiosity pulled him through a hidden doorway into a world of magic, monsters, and stats he could suddenly see ticking upward. He was a player now, able to level, fight, and grow stronger as if he'd stepped into a brand-new game.

But with every quest he completed, one question gnawed at him: If this world is a game... what did I leave behind?

The answer is worse than he imagined. The portal isn't a glitch-it's a hack, a bridge between servers created by malicious players who intend to carry their hyper-leveled characters into Earth's simulation. If they succeed, no one back home will stand a chance.

To stop them, Palmer must team up with a handful of others like him and any friendly player allies willing to help hold the line against an onslaught of reckless and bloodthirsty PvPers.

Their best chance is to stop each new breach before it becomes a permanent bridge-and before enemy players cross into his world.

To put an end to the...

Incursions.
