WOW!
I bought this last month and had low expectations. My 8 month old GSD has torn through every "indestructible" herding ball we could find within MINUTES. He learned quickly the zipper was the kill shot, and went straight for it every time. This ball?, it took him a couple of uses to appreciate it, but now he is absolutely crazy for it. I have to force him to stop playing, I truly feel he would run with this ball until he dropped. The hard plastic cannot be punctured, once he realized he couldn't kill it, he is using as it was intended, to run and herd. I also REALLY appreciate the fact that it is an American Made product! I always look for that option, when I saw that, I ordered 3 balls, 2 XL's and 1 M as my daughter also has a GSD puppy. GREAT product! Just be careful if your dog is crazy fast and runs that ball into your shin, that can be uncomfortable for a moment.

The three Amigos - ball killers extraordinaire
Three dogs - 2 German Sheps and. Blue Healer - had since November 2026 and they finally killed it. Most balls don’t last a week. This one lasted over 6 months

Perfect except for one thing
My GSD absolutely loves to play with this but has broken a few teeth on it. I am begging Jolly Pets to make a Push-and-Play ball out of the Bounce-and-Play material. Or coat the Push-and-Play with a rubber coating that is maybe 5mm thick. I don’t even care if it wears off with use, I’ll keep buying them. She is 9 years old and wants to play again, please make her dreams come true before it too late! Please!!!!!

Great but beware of teeth issues
My dogs absolutely love this ball but there is a huge issue and wish I would have read the reviews before buying. Over time of herding the ball, it has worn down the teeth to very sharp points. This is the reason for a 3 star and not a 1 because the dogs love the ball so much. I wish they made this size ball in the rubber like the soccer ball. Please consider this in the future!

Herding Dog's FAVORITE go-to toy!
GSD LOVES this ball! Will spend 30-45 minutes happily pushing, chasing, and mimicing the moves of top soccer players - running and alternating between his legs. HOWEVER, big downside in our personal experience...the lack of a neoprene or other "cover" has caused very large hygromas on the inside of his legs. I've tried wrist sweatbands, purchased leg guards that are used post surgery, and an actual slip on vest-like leg product typically used for post surgery to protect the dog's legs. Unfortunately, only temporary solutions as they all slip off during active running and play time. PLEASE consider making a protective cover that has both sturdy outside material that can withstand "teeth" as well as with some type of "cushion" to protect the bony protrusions of a large dog's legs. Again, a wonderful toy that satisfies the herding breed's energy and enthusiasm to herd, but really requires thoughtful consideration of the health ramifications to daily play sessions.

BEST! TOY! EVER!
This is far and away the best toy I've ever gotten for my dog! She's a bit of a spaz and she's got a ton of energy. All I have to do it take her out with her jolly ball for 20 minutes and, voila! She's happily exhausted!

Best ball ever
My pup immediately goes outside to find her ball and then goes pee later. The ball it the priority. Best thing ever for a high energy dog.

Great herding ball for exercise!
We have invested in 3 herding balls and find them the perfect exercise for excessive energy in our Blue Heeler. He uses on land and also in the lake. Great product!

14” Herd Ball too hard
My German Shepherd loves his 14” Jolly Herd ball he loves it so much that I have to find it from him. My problem is it’s to hard it’s rubbing the hair and skin from the side of his nose by pushing it. I hope that you can come up with one that’s not so hard I can’t let him play with it as long as he really wants to because of the bleeding and skin removal on the side of his nose.

Warning - wears teeth down from dog pushing the ball with mouth (as herding breeds do)
I have huge concerns after me dog used this toy for 2 weeks and it caused teeth wear. She loved this ball and would push it around the yard with her mouth half open. Unfortunately this led to all her K9s being worn down from the friction. I know the description warns against biting, but she didn't chew/bite the ball it was simply from the friction of the ball against her teeth. Sadly we had to take the ball away so she didn't further damage her teeth

Don’t Dew It
Our lab enjoyed playing with the ball until he caught his dewclaw on the small hole and ripped it off. After severe pain and vet bills, we’ve thrown the ball away.

Tough, dogs can't destroy it!!
We've had 1 of these for more than 15 yrs and it has been well loved by 5 labs over the years! THE best toy we've ever bought. Watching the soccer games that ensue are a blast. The plug eventually fell out but it's still going strong! Our dogs love it! We have the softer balls as well but when I pull this out of the storage box they totally forget about the soft 1s!

Worth every penny
FINALLY a ball my pitty can't destroy in a day!!!!! He absolutely LOVES his new push-n-play and it tires him out. My only suggestion would be a rounder edge to where the plug is. My poor guy scrapped his snout up.

Worth the price tag. You’ll be glad you got it. And your pup will be too.
I have a Staffordshire/Husky mix who is a just full of energy and this ball wears him out. I highly recommend this ball. I can’t even count how many previous balls I have gone through to find one tough enough and big enough for my dog. Toys last MAYBE 10 minutes before he has either chewed half of it up to get to the squeaker or just completely annihilates the toy to where it’s unrecognizable. This ball has lasted for more than 5 months. Granted he has figured out how to get his teeth into the stopper and can now carry it a foot or 2. One other downside to this ball is that he has a large tongue and while playing with it , kicking It ( I don’t kick it if his mouth is on it for all you Karen’s out there) but his long tongue and him not being able to fully latch on - he has but his tongue a time or 2 and it caused a bit of bleeding- he however did not care and wanted to keep playing with his ball. I give this ball a solid 9/10. And the entertainment it brings, watching him push it around like David Beckham is priceless.

Best purchase yet!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our pittie is absolutely obsessed with this ball! He could push it around the backyard for hours if we let him!

Good quality just doesn’t capture my dogs interest
Lilah shows no interest in the ball. She likes to be able to retrieve and I guess it’s just so big and hard that she can’t do what she wants to do with it.

It’s been a success!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our one year old puppy that has way more energy than one dog should have has several of the toys from Jolly. The red push and play has been the most successful at wearing her out. Her first instinct was to pull it or try to carry it but after we worked with her for about 15 mins she had it figured out. She played with it for 45 minutes the first night. She continues to go outside and play with it even on her own.
