Learning Resources Parquetry Blocks & 20 Pattern Cards, 53 Piece Set, Ages 4+

I am in vision therapy and my vision therapist has assigned me activities to do with the Parquetry Blocks and cards that are helping correct my vision issues. Thank you for making such a good product. One improvement that would make it even better is to make the cardboard tray that holds the pieces of a more sturdy and able to hold the pieces when picked up.

I purchased these for each of my grandchildren. While I was a speech pathologist working with elementary children, I loved using this set. They are bright and colorful, great for teaching all sorts of things, and they are well made.

It has been a long time since I ordered from Kaplan. I was ordering for a preschool classroom so I was expecting the "Super Set" to be enough for 3-4 students in a center, and it only has enough pieces for 1 card to be filled. The cards too are thin and definitely need to have heavy laminating done if expecting multiple years of use. The nice thing is the pieces are of heavy wood - yea, and large so pieces are less likely to get put into mouths at all or lost. I will need to purchase two more sets for sharing and use in our classroom which makes the item fairly expensive but should be a basic preschool classroom material for 3-5 year olds.

My son will be using this to duplicate the patterns which will help build pathways in his brain

I ordered this set to target visual perceptual skills, problem solving and motor planning in school age children with Autism. These blocks are large and easy to handle for smaller hands and the bright colors capture their attention. This was an immediate hit. The pattern sheets are progressively difficult, some in full color and some with just outlines. I am also able to grade from copying in the frame to on the table. I am able to use the set with all my students from kindergarten through 7th grade and keep them interested. Overall, I would recommend the Parquetry Block Activity set as a nice tool to practice fine and visual motor skills within the classroom.

This is a wonderful set. My daughter loves doing the patterns! It has helped her learn her shapes, colors and counting. I have purchased this set for all my nieces and nephews too!
