Q: What specific type of plastic is the liner? Is the basket lacquered? If it has metal, what specific type of metal is it? Is it checked for heavy metals, like lead? Thank you

A: Hello Pat - Those are great questions! The liner is made of polypropylene. The water hyacinth basket is not lacquered. There is a wire frame in the basket that is made of steel, which is tested for heavy metals prior to mass production. Thank you! - Janell

At first, this was perfect. Had one in both bathrooms. Loved the shape, size and the plastic liner. Unfortunately they both developed mildew and I had to throw them away. I have other hyacinth baskets in the bathrooms - purchased elsewhere - and they have not developed mildew.

Like the color and functionality of this trashcan. I have bought 4 of them for my house one of them is a darker color that didn’t hold up as well but the like colored ones have held up very well. It’s really helpful that the trash has an insert and you can wrap the top of the bag around it so it is hidden.
