About the Author

Alan Grant was a celebrated Scottish comics writer best known for his influential runs on Batman, Detective Comics, Judge Dredd, and Lobo. Alongside collaborators such as John Wagner and Norm Breyfogle, Grant helped redefine Batman in the late 1980s and 1990s, co-creating iconic characters including Victor Zsasz, the Ventriloquist, and Ratcatcher. His sharp blend of dark humor, social satire, and explosive action made Lobo one of DC's defining cult hits of the era. Beyond superhero comics, Grant earned acclaim for Judge Anderson, Strontium Dog, and environmentally themed creator-owned work. Over the course of his career, Grant received multiple Eisner Award nominations and remains recognized as one of the defining voices in modern British and American comics storytelling.
