Loving this series! Love the Byrd's!
Some authors just know how to wrap their hands around your heart and refuse to let go, and Tarah DeWitt is one of them. Every single book in this series she writes leaves me feeling something. She balances heartbreak, healing, humor, family, and romance that always has me in my feelings. This story follows Bea, who is still grieving the devastating loss of her best friend, Merritt. Before she passed, Merritt left Bea one final wish that forces her to make one of the hardest decisions of her life. Even though I’ve never experienced IVF or faced a decision like this, Tarah DeWitt wrote it with so much compassion that I found myself emotionally invested. The story explores grief, friendship, motherhood, healing, and learning that moving forward doesn’t mean leaving someone behind. The emotional conflict doesn’t just come from Bea’s decision. Everyone around her has a different opinion. There isn’t a clear right or wrong answer. Then there’s Silas Byrd. ❤️ Silas and Bea grew up as best friends, and their feelings for each other had always been there beneath the surface. Circumstances pulled them apart years ago, but when Bebe suddenly needs a place to stay, Silas opens his home without hesitation. Watching these two slowly find their way back to one another was everything I wanted. Their chemistry never disappeared. It simply waited for the right time to ignite again. Silas completely stole my heart. He’s protective, patient, supportive, and carries his own emotional scars after being severely burned while working as a firefighter. I loved how the story handled his insecurities about his scars. Bea never saw them as something to hide. To her, they were proof of his courage and the life he’d fought to keep. Their relationship is built on acceptance, trust, and loving every version of each other. One of my favorite parts of this entire series continues to be the Byrd family. Their group texts, constant teasing, sibling banter, and unwavering support create so many laugh-out-loud moments that perfectly balance the heavier themes. They genuinely feel like a real family, and every scene with them made me smile.
