Description
Maker's 46 redefines bourbon with a unique experience crafted by Bill Samuels, Jr., the legacy of Maker's Mark founders. Introduced in 2010, it stands as the first major expression since classic Maker's in 1953. This exceptional bourbon undergoes a distinctive finishing process, aging longer with seared French oak staves. Ten of these staves are placed into cask strength Maker's Mark barrels, allowing the whisky to mature in optimal conditions. The result is a bourbon with layered notes, balanced complexity, and a longer finish, featuring caramel, vanilla, and baking spice. Maker's 46 is a testament to Bill Samuels, Jr.'s taste vision, pushing bourbon craftsmanship boundaries. The wood-finishing series, initiated by Maker's 46, led to expressions like Maker's Mark Private Selection. With a commitment to experimentation and honoring the founders' legacy, Maker's 46 invites enthusiasts to savor a bourbon that reimagines tradition while reflecting the enduring dedication of Bill and Margie to exceptional spirits.

Smooth
Smooth and classic flavor. Sips well and is great in craft cocktails. We tried this with an old fashion beverage and it was a hit amongst guests! Most people will enjoy it as sipping.

Exceptionally smooth
Makers 46 is even smoother than the original. Great to simply sip out of a rocks glass with nothing else. And compared to other higher end brands you get a great value for the price. Always have this in the collection!

Maker’s Mark 46 – A Must-Have for Any Back Bar
Maker’s Mark 46 takes everything people already love about the original and dials it up with complexity, structure, and character — without alienating the casual sipper. Finished with seared French oak staves, it delivers a rich, layered bourbon that bridges the gap between approachable and elevated. Nose: Warm vanilla, baking spice, toasted oak Palate: Creamy mouthfeel with notes of caramel, cinnamon, and a deeper oak spice Finish: Lingering, balanced, and just bold enough Whether you’re running a neighborhood cocktail bar or a high-volume venue, 46 is a smart back bar staple. It plays well in stirred classics, makes a standout Old Fashioned, and offers enough nuance to be poured neat for more discerning guests. The price point hits a sweet spot too — premium without being precious. Bottom line: Maker’s 46 is that rare bottle that pleases both the bourbon-curious and the bourbon-serious. Dependable. Distinct. Deserving of shelf space.

Incredibly smooth and a great value
Makers 46 is such a great value. It compares to some of the best Wellers I’ve ever had and is only a fraction of the cost. If you’re looking for a good sipping bourbon any time of the year, this is it.

Excellent go-to
The world has gone crazy for bourbon in the last couple of years, making it harder to find what used to be great go-to's. Thankfully, Makers Mark has kept up with the demand for 46!

Best Maker's Mark on market
I am a Maker's Mark fan. I have visited the home on the Bourbon Trail and dipped my own bottle. I have tried the regular MM, 101, specialty blends and so on........the 46 is the BEST of them all IMO. Smooth, great flavor profile, amazing neat and the list goes on. It is worth EVERY PENNY spent to get this bottle over regular Maker's Mark.

I always keep some Maker's 46 in the cabinet.
Whether I use it for making bourbon balls or when I need a smooth drink, Maker's 46 is my go to. Last year I purchased four bottles of it for Christmas presents and it was a big hit. It's definitely the gift that keeps on giving.

This is by far my favorite of the Maker's selections. The oak and caramel come out in a delicious flavor.

Great Whisky!
I drink my Maker's either straight up or in a classic Old Fashioned. I make my old fashioned using 1/2 of a sugar cube, 1 tablespoon water, two shots of your fantastic whisky, one large round ice cube and a thin slice of orange rind squeezed over the drink and dropped in to the glass when done. Just doesn't get any better.
