Miss Demeanor - by Celia J (Paperback)

Book Synopsis

Celia J. is thirteen, certified in forensic science, and running a private investigation out of her bedroom while quietly keeping her grieving father from falling apart. She is the girl detective middle grade fiction has been waiting for.

Miss Demeanor -- Book II

She's thirteen, self-trained, and the neighborhood's only real detective.

Celia J. doesn't wait around for adults to solve things. She has a CSI certification, a corkboard covered in pushpins, and a cat named Mr. Whiskers who is, frankly, the most important resident of the house. When a string of pet thefts starts rattling her neighborhood and the police treat it like a low priority, Celia opens Case 003.

What starts as a local nuisance turns into something far more personal. The closer Celia gets to the truth, the more she realizes the people she trusts most may not be exactly who they seem. And the criminals? They are watching her too.

Between stakeouts, forensic mapping sessions, and navigating the very complicated feelings she has about her dad's new friendship with a certain detective lieutenant, Celia is running out of time to crack this before it cracks her first.

Can one determined girl outthink a criminal who has been hiding in plain sight all along?

Perfect for fans of Enola Holmes and the Samantha Wolf mystery series.
