Modern Sprout Wildflower Mixed Seed Kit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The seed bombs were very easy to grow. It didn’t take a lot of extreme care to grow them and they can survive the cold without issues. However I did notice that not very many bloomed. I’m staying hopeful and monitoring that maybe it just takes time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited to give these seed balls a go in my garden - the Alchemist variety looked like it would be a lovely assortment of colors. Planted them in an in-ground flower bed on November 11th (USDA zone 9b, for reference), and seven days later, there was already substantial seedling-age! An armadillo definitely rolled through the garden and snuffed up at least one of the seed balls, so there’s a definite downside to the 2/3rds into dirt planting depth. Make sure it’s in an area that is protected from predators. I also noticed that despite being consistently watered as per the directions, the seed balls are holding their shape even though the sprouts are emerging, which has me concerned that everything will sprout too close together and choke itself out. TBD. Got mostly successful (and speedy) germination, but it remains to be seen how this will play out. The concept is really cute and made it easy for me to share the planting experience with my first grader. Hopefully, we’ll be getting some blooms soon! But with the hyper close sprouting quarters, I maintain some reservations. 3 stars.

We are going to place these in a soiled rock bed that is very bare, and could use some color. Cannot wait to see these start to sprout and flower! This was such a fun family project as well.
