Book Synopsis
In this tender, beautifully illustrated story, two moth caterpillar friends navigate the big feelings of metamorphosis together, offering a reassuring celebration of growing up, letting go, and holding tight to what truly matters. Ernest and Moe are in the final stage of their caterpillar lives. But Ernest does not want to turn into a moth--he likes things just as they are. With patience and empathy, Moe eases Ernest's anxieties and explains that everything in nature transforms, and that change is their destiny, too. When Ernest emerges from his cocoon, he realizes that they are only different on the outside, and that one thing will never change: their friendship. Perfect for children experiencing transitions of any kind, this comforting read-aloud gently supports conversations around big feelings and will resonate with anyone seeking a life-affirming story about courage, growth, and the constancy of true friendship. Lush, mixed-media illustrations bring Ernest and Moe's world to life with a timeless, classic feel, and fascinating facts about moths can be found at the back of the book.
