Mount Gay XO Rum - 750ml Bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A little expensive, but the quality of this is very good. It seemed very well blended to me as I did not experience any rough edges in the flavor. This is one that can easily be sipped - I prefer it chilled. No need to mix this with cola to get the best out of it. The presentation is nice as it comes in a sealed box. I would recommend this to someone who is a lover of good, quality rum and who will truly appreciate it. If you're just looking for a mixer where quality isn't as important, my suggestion would be to grab something else.

Straight out of Barbados, this rum blends history, craftsmanship, and flavor into every bottle. I tried the Mount Gay Eclipse and was immediately struck by its smoothness and warmth. It smells smooth, and goes down even smoother. The bottle is nice, and the price is not bad for the quality of the rum. I have been using this brand of rum for a while now, and I was super excited to try this specific bottle when I saw it. I highly recommend.

But honestly, this is going to be my new favorite rum. It’s amazing right out of the bottle and I can’t drink anything that way. It’s not too stiff and it doesn’t taste like any of the distilling spirits that some other alcohols do. It tastes like marshmallowy burnt sugar cane and cask…. It tastes like nostalgia, memories of where it’s made (Barbados). Love it.

There is nice fruity note on the nose as well as the coconut – a kind of rum and raisin like aroma going down
