Description

Stitch Budgerigar, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a blue budgie and a green budgie sit side by side on a branch against a dark green background. A little stitcher's folklore: wild budgerigars are always green and yellow; blue budgies were bred later in captivity. Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs. Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 20 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included. Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades. Canvas size: 18×24 cm (7.1×9.4 in). A cheerful gift for a bird lover.
