Q: are there any distortions either closer or far?
A: Can I DIY when the two hinges in the back were horizontal uneven out of factory? My mirror is now hanging over the door lopsided. Please help.
submitted byEastsidemom - 3 months agoA: Hinges were attached Uneven
submitted byEastsidemom - 3 months agoA: Horrible distortion. It's really done a number on my self-esteem.
submitted byElizabeth - 4 years agoA: The mirror definitely shows some distortion from far away (more than 6' or so), but at normal viewing distance, it isn't noticeable. Mine was also a little bowed out, but I stuck a little Velcro on the back to hold it flat.
submitted byCatullus - 9 years agoA: Hi zqure - Thanks for the question! This over-the-door mirror is made to provide a simple and easy way to check out your look and shouldn't have any distortion. Have a great day! - Matt

Q: Are the hooks mounted already on the door? I don't want one that requires me to do the hardware...I want one that is ready to just hang
A: No you actually have to mount it for yourself it doesn't come already mounted.
submitted bySosa - 10 years agoA: The hooks slide onto the back of the mirror, and are adjustable so that the mirror will hang higher or lower, depending on where you want it. But after you slide those in, all you have to do is hang it over the door.

Q: does it come with hardware to hang on door? or what hardware do I need to buy
A: Hi JJ, this mirror comes with over the door hooks included in your purchase for over the door display. The mirror can also be hung on a wall using standard hardware. The slots in the metal mounting plates on the back of the mirror, which are also used with the over-the-door hooks, will accommodate a #6 screw head for wall installation. Happy shopping!

Q: Can the wood/brown frame be easily painted?
A: Tape everything else off, lay down a primer fit for your paint of choice, and you can paint this. I’ve found it helpful to search for people painting this exact item, for the best product recommendations. Don’t forget to get your coupons pulled up to use at Michael’s 🩷

Q: I've hung the mirror and it was easy to do ..However the mirror seems to rattle against the door when opening and closing the door..Any suggestions on how to stop this?
A: I’ve seen people use metal hardware washers, with enough weight to keep things from bouncing like that, and the bumper suggestion. Bc ohhh I do not like that jangling. It just sounds messy
submitted byElizabeth - 2 years agoA: Buy some stick-on bumper pads (either plastic or felt) and this should solve the problem. You can find these in a variety of shapes and sizes including rectangular strips. I think if you put one of those along the bottom edge of the mirror it will balance the over-the-door hooks. Good luck

Q: can u take of the hooks do the mirror can stand on my floor? Will be purchasing if so
A: I have seen really cute DIYs people have done where they buy 3 of a mirror like this and then connect all with small hinges(however, I think the 3M strips for heavy pictures would work well too🤷♀️) Then the have a foldable, three way mirror oohlala
submitted byElizabeth - 2 years agoA: Hi Eva - We appreciate you reaching out. Without the hook this item can be leaned on the wall. - Jay
