All benmarks exceeded all expectations, luckily purchased prior to price increases.

While the thermals are great and staying cool in a rather hot rig during these hot months in texas, I have had to go through so many hoops to get the nvme to run at actual speeds instead of running at snail pace due to bad settings promoted by Samsung in Samsung magician

This was the first 990 pro that I got for my computer, and it seems to run well. It's the third Samsung ssd that I've put in this machine, the first two being a 980 (a leftover from a previous build) and 980 pro (my OS drive). I've got no complaints about any of these drives

Has been great, not a single issue, loads fast, no corruption. The fact that I have nothing to complain about proves it does it's job perfectly.

It's been incredible, and for the price I paid a few years ago the only problem I have is I didn't just jump in and buy several more. It's fast, it's efficient and I'm way behind with a motherboard that's like Pcie 3. Seriously I only wish I had the extra money at the time I purchased those two, getting more or larger SSDs. Now the price I paid for the 990 Pro SSD 1TB is closer to the 4 TB price!

Just added this to my Zephyrus G16, and it's perfect for the limited space in there. Thermal performance has been a non-issue. Benchmark tests are consistent across multiple runs.

I originally purchased this drive for my main drive on my personal build. Windows and Video editing software mainly. This drive was reliable and exceptionally fast. Very responsive, zero lag. I used this drive 4 years, 60 hours a week without a hitch. I swapped this drive over to a Laptop that's running a 5080. I thought that Adobe Premiere would make my laptop run hot but this drive stayed cool. I definitely recommend this workhorse for a affordable and reliable drive.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Four months of daily use in an ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 (GX650PY): one 990 Pro 4TB as a second working drive, 2TB OEM as the boot drive (that I later swapped for another 4TB 990 Pro). Not a light workload: large-format Illustrator files, Blender scratch, and DaVinci Resolve timelines built from long-run CCTV footage (week long clips in 12 camera multi-view). Throughput is where the gap is obvious. Pulling that CCTV footage off the 990 Pro versus the OEM drive that shipped with the laptop is a clear, repeatable difference, and against an external HDD it isn't a comparison at all. Scrubbing a timeline stopped being something I brace for. Latency shows up in the small stuff. Oversized Illustrator files open and save without the hang I used to just sit through. Blender pulls scratch without stalling mid-operation. Thermals were my biggest concern with a "laptop" that could give you 3rd degree burns straight out the factory. I ran the bare drive over the factory ASUS absorber and added an aftermarket heatsink with a quality thermal pad on top. With that stack it stays composed under sustained writes. I haven't been able to trigger throttling. Consistency is the real story, though. Four months in, on a drive that's filled and emptied many times, and it performs the way it did on day one. No degradation, no surprise stalls, nothing concerning in SMART. It behaves identically at month four as it did at hour one, which is exactly what I wanted from it.
