Scotch - Small - Foam - Hook and Loop Fastener - 3 in. - 2 Pack

I purchased the Scotch Mount Extreme 12 lb Double Sided Mounting Strips. They seem to stick very well, but I caught the devil trying to remove the red strip from the other side. The paper side removed easily, but I fought the red side until I gave up and went back to it the next day. Are all the strips made like this? Maybe placing a pull tab might make it easier? I've never had such difficulty with any type of tapes in the past.

I have trying to find an item to hold my two couch cushions in place when someone stands up. I live in Florida and hard to find items to use for the heat and humidity. Your products are amazing for no using nails, but nothing for fabric in long use. Help???

I bought the two roll box of clear Scotch Extreme Fastener tape for use on my RV trailer which experiences a series of earthquake-like events as we travel. It held everything I secured with it on a 1000 mile vacation and NOTHING moved or fell from horizontal or vertical surfaces inside and I used it to mount the remote control for the awning lights and a few other items on the outside. It wasn’t affected by weather and the clear tape is almost invisible when not in use. I’m strongly recommending it to everyone who will listen. Fantastic product!

Success for any tape applied product like this requires proper cleaning and de-greasing. Over years of RC model building, found that basic Lighter Fluid (applied in ventilated area) is best and evaporates fast. Over non-smooth surfaces outside, use an old toothbrush. And if this tape fails to hold objects, clean off all tape residues and now apply a light coat of medium CA or Gorilla glue to the new tapes. Hold in place (mask tape Gorilla glue). And don't expect decades of longevity for those outdoor applications exposed to elements of weather.

I bought these to mount 2 small speakers inside a motorcycle helmet, because they looked like they would hold the speakers in place more securely than regular velcro. Mounted the speakers, and everything was going great, until the other day. It was a nice spring day, but apparently too hot because it caused the glue on the strips to melt to the point that when I pulled off my helmet, the same way I'd done hundreds off times before after I put the speakers in, both speakers fell out like there was nothing holding them in place at all. If 1 set can hold 6 pounds (according to the packaging) then if it's cut into three 1" squares, each one should hold 2 pounds, and I know each speaker weighs less than 1 pound, so the strips didn't fail from trying to support too much weight. So although I do like the design of the locking feature of the strips, the glue backing isn't good enough to withstand warm temperature before losing strength. I've used regular velcro on the speakers since, and they're not as secure at holding the speakers in place when I put the helmet on or take it off, but the glue on the velcro is so stuck on after higher temperatures, that I don't think I'll be getting it off with any ease and without a lot of time.

It has been working better than anything else I've tried and seems like a strong grip. I haven't "put it to the test" though in some of the uses mentioned on the packaging - so I can't speak to how it holds up in outdoors/weather or for hanging heavier items. I used this to temporarily fasten down several plastic tarps while moving. In the past I just tucked the tarps under boxes or placed bricks on the tarp to prevent blowing away. I was used to seeing at least part of the items uncovered. When I returned to check my items - what I expected after a windy night was everything uncovered. WOW what I discovered was with the 3M - Scotch™ Extreme Fasteners held tightly. It seemed the tarp didn't even move. The fasteners once placed on the clean tarp and my plastic container was almost unable to open up. I am very impressed the the quality of the "holding" ability. This product is a must for any household and any professional or handyman.

I'm super glad I was chosen, because I don't think I would have picked this up otherwise. Gone is your traditional Velcro that easily wears out after a while. These lock in like velcro, but with super strength. They are made from plastic, so you don't end up with messy threads or loose tiny hooks like Velcro. I also used it for a great 4 months before I wrote my review because I wanted to make sure it won't wear out after a month or 2. So far, it's still holding strong. This is a great for if you want to be able to hang or hold something to a wall, with the added flexibility of removing & re-attaching it often. One of the key features of these fasteners is that there is no "top" and "bottom" like Velcro. Both pieces are the same and you just need to press one piece to the other. In the past, I have used the lighter duty one to attach a light remote to our wall. I love the concept and that it seems we are evolving from the old Velcro.
