It is easy to assemble and instructions are ok. Quality of materials not so great for the price. Some pieces cracked while putting together, one came cracked and found a couple pieces chipped on the edges. I focused on the width and forgot about height, this is short, so keep an eye on that.

This was fairly easy to assemble (30mins) and it looks lovely. I ordered the white distressed and the color is exactly as it appears online. If you're looking for a hall tree that is not too tall and sturdy enough to sit on, this is the one.

It’s ok, it’s difficult to build, it took me 3-4 hours due to me building it on my own. For that price, the material is too cheap, it feels like it could fall apart. Every time I would put in a screw the wood would crack a bit. I’m not gonna return it because I am not gonna take it apart and attempt to put it back in the box and ship.

I really wanted to like this hall tree but there are issues with the quality and design. Got to step two of assembly and the screws are too small/holes too big. They just turn and turn and never actually tighten. The holes for the dowels were far too large so the pieces wouldn't stay connected. I contacted support about that. We'll see what happens there. There's a giant fingerprint stuck in the paint that will need to be painted over. I wanted distressed, not sloppy. The cabinet door hardware is obnoxiously loud when opening. Metal scraping against metal. It also has no stop so watch your shins, ankles, etc if you let go of the door. Overall, it's easy to assemble, sturdy and nice looking but I expected finer touches and care in craftsmanship for the price.

This Hall Tree in black is absolutely gorgeous! Looks like a much more expensive piece of furniture. I spent a great deal of time looking for a hall tree and they were very expensive pretty much everywhere else. My husband assembled it, yes, he said it was time consuming but not very difficult. It looks so nice. Thank you Target for making affordable, quality furniture!
