Oh my goodness, I’ve never seen a cuter pool toy. My daughter received this in her Easter basket and is still loving it in July. It works exactly as described and everyone who sees Ariel spin to the surface of the water has a smile on their face. Highly recommend!

Terrible packaging and only works sometimes

The packaging was one of the worst products I have ever opened. I'm not sure why they decided to glue every inch together and then make it out of plastic that easily splinters and forms jagged edges. Once I did get the product out it sat underwater with nothing happening. My kids were not impressed and it quickly went to the not interested pile. Would not recommend or purchase.

Not worth the money. They spent more money on the plastic packaging then they did on the actual toy.

Could not get item out of really really hard plastic. Pink sea shell has scratches and Ariel’s tail snapped off when trying to remove her from package. Definitely returning. I love the idea of this item but it’s not worth the hassle of trying to get it open.

Fun for everyone

I’m reordering 2 of these because ours was stolen from the side of the pool on vacation. My son loves taking it to the bottom of the pool for all the little girls to watch and my daughter will play with it for hours.

Grab one if you can!

This toy works wonderfully! You load the mermaid (as specified) into the shell, drop the shell into the pool and once the shell hits the bottom of the pool it opens and releases the mermaid to spin to the top. Our children are obsessed with this magical toy.

Bad purchase

The packaging trying to get Ariel out of the package she broke. Couldn’t return bought it a month ago and it just gave it for part of a birthday present. We glued it back together and hopefully it’ll work.

Mesmermizing

Thanks to other reviewers, I knew to be exceptionally careful when dealing with the difficult packaging. A pair of scissors focusing on getting Ariel out first and in tact did the trick. My 5 year old daughter and I love watching Ariel sink and spin to the top. Holding the container under water until the air bubbles stop and then giving the shell a bit of a push downward seems to do the trick in having the shell open.

Cute toy but packaging is insane

Packaging is a literal nightmare. Broke the tail off the mermaid just trying to get it out of the box that is like Fort Knox.

Bad packaging is an understatement

Fun toy, but like everyone else has said, beyond horrible packaging. I purchased two and both are a nightmare to open. It is the hardest, sharpest, thickest plastic I’ve ever seen. It actually is a joke that they have this type of packaging on a kid’s toy. I ended up cutting my finger. You need the jaws of life to pry this toy open!!!

Works Great-lots of diving fun

The toy works exactly as described and my granddaughter has had a blast with it. I deducted 1 star for two reasons. The packaging is AWFUL. The plast is so hard and thick. It is tightly shrink wrapped around the toy. I had to use an exacto knife and carefully cut section by secion of the plastic away from the toy and not damage the toy. After one short play session in the pool, I noticed the paint is rubbing off of Ariel's tail. It really is a neat toy, but packaging and quality of the paint really needs to be addressed.
