Looks very durable efficient. Hope it will work as a personal item bag. Lots of pockets, I like having a bag for a water bottle. It's too bad it doesn't unzip enough to keep the laptop in. But I needed one small enough to fit beneath the seat in front of me.
Best backpacks ever!

8 years of heavy use, and still going strong! Best backpack I've ever had. It's actually the second Targus bag I've owned. The first one lasted me over 10 years. Same model.

I am yet another reviewer here that has had this model of backpack for nearly 13 years now. Came back to the Targus site to check out their latest offerings as it is finally starting to fray to the point where it isn't as comfortable to wear as it used to be, but with that said, the first bit of fraying did not happen until about 7 years into ownership with this bag. This bag has been with me for so many phases of my lifetime both during and after college. I've taken it with me after living in 3 different states over the past decade and it has held up for every challenge I had for it. I can't tell you the amount of times I've overstuffed this bag and it still held up very well. Even with the fraying that is happening, there are no holes or gashes in the bag that compromises the interior. Some of the interior compartments have gotten a beating over time and are falling apart on the inside, but the backpack is still very usable. It's hard to part with this bag after it has been with me for this long in my lifetime thus far, but I hope the other products on Targus' website are just as durable and well made, especially for such an affordable price. They will definitely have a very happy customer for life. If you want a backpack that you know will withstand the test of time and can take on most types of adventures you throw at it and at a good price, this is it.
Spacious durable bag that's lasted 13+ years.

This is by far the best backpack I've ever had. It's finally starting to fray and fall apart, so I need a new one. Actually, it started to fray about 3 years ago, and that speaks volumes to how strong it is. Normally when a backpack starts to fray, it's trash after about 3 months. The good: 1. Capacity: The backpack holds your whole day. I've traveled with this backpack, and can honestly fit more things in here than a carry on bag. 2. Light weight. I have another backpack that feels heavier than this bag with nothing in it. 3. Durable: given how many times I've overstuffed the bag, I'm amazed it took this long to fray. I'm most surprised by the double lining on the bag. Where a hole would lead to contents being exposed, the fraying has only affected the top layer of the bag, keeping things inside protected. 4. Comfort: I received the bag free with my laptop, so I didn't use it much when I first got it. But then one day I put it on. I was shocked how comfortable it felt. Even after 13 years, with thinned out padding on the straps, the bag is still relatively comfortable. 5. Protection: This will protect your laptop, only when it's in the laptop compartment. Don't make the mistake I did with my latest laptop. 6. Compartments galore. This is actually a joy and pain, but I love having multiple places to separate things. This comes in handy for dance class, when I need to separate wet clothes from everything else. 7. Easy loading, thanks to the zippers and design. The bad: The bag does fairly well in the rain, but would be nice to have the rain protector I've seen on other bags. Also, the number of hidden compartments is a bit much. The compartments within compartments thing means things can easily get misplaced, and take time to find. I've accidentally left food in my bag because when I emptied it out, I missed a compartment. Overall, the quality of this bag has sent me back here. I would consider buying this bag again. However, I'm also considering other things, because Targus has made so many improvements on design in 13 years. But if you want a spacious bag that will get you through the day, or a trip, and protect your laptop, this is it.
Extremely strong and value for money

I bought this bag 13 yrs ago. Best purchase I've ever made. I call it my take everywhere bag. I use it 6 days per week, it has been on every trip and a few overnight hikes for the last 13 yrs, it has moved me to Mexico and back. The straps finally broke a few weeks ago and I was devastated. I stitched then back up and I'm still using it. I'm however thinking of getting another one. This bag is just amazing.

I've had mine so long I honestly forgot where I got it. I had to look it up. I used it 5 days a week for years. It's finally time for a replacement. Great bag! Tons of pockets, pouches, seperations, etc for carrying lots of different items.

After 8 years and over 20 countries, this back pack's zipper finally gave in. Seriously ergonomic and a reliable back pack with enough room for everything.

I received this bag 13 years ago when I was a sophomore in high school. It has been used almost every day and is still holding up well. Buying a second one to help make switching between work and grad school classes easier.
So good I bought it twice

I first bought one of these 8 years ago after burning through cheaper backpacks too quickly. I bought another one after wearing this one to the ground. Best backpack I've ever owned.
Used every day for nearly six years

There are better backpacks out there, but I doubt at this price. Going on six years now daily use, finally retiring this pack. Held up great on every trip I've taken with it. Only downside is the lack of waterproofing, but that hasn't been much of a detriment to me.

This Targus product is a good, not great, replacement for the HP product that I previously owned. Not enthused about this product's overall engineering (earphone hole on top of compartment - rain water leaked into hole). Not as feature-rich as previous HP product that I owned. For example, there is no padlock holes, or other locking mechanism, on computer compartment for added security. Auxiliary compartments are undersized a bit, for my tastes when attempting to carry other books / electronics.
