We were able to try this game for free. It was pretty fun, but the young kids need to know how to spell. I like that the game fits in the bag, and it's a fun theme too. It's nice that there are rules you can use for younger players so they can still play even if they're just learning to spell. It's also nice that you can decide how many rounds you'd like to play, so you can have a short game, or make it go a little longer.

Family tun
Dice words is an adorable themed game with sets of “drink dice” (fruit punch, grape soda, lemonade or iced coffee), the shaker cups look like drinking cups, the letter boards double as straws and it is made even more fun with the sugar cube die (which was a great modifier to make the game easier for my 9 year old) and the ice cube dice. It has elements of Yahtzee and a fast paced scrabble, fun and easy to learn! Would highly recommend, especially if you love word games! I was gifted this game from Tryazon in exchange for my honest review

Fun game!
I received this game for free from Thames and Kosmos to try and give my honest review. My husband and I enjoyed playing Dice Games. It’s a fun, quick round kind of game that makes you think and come up with a good strategy for playing your words. We can’t wait to take this one to game night!

Dice Words is like a cross between Scrabble and Yahtzee. It revolves around a cute theme of trying to make words from your “drink” dice while trying to match as many target “ice cube” letters to score the most points possible. A lot of Dice Words is in the luck of the roll of the dice, from both the target letters and your personal stash. The game is simple and easy to play, and the instructions are clear. The game plays quickly so you can play the game when you don’t have much time, or you can keep playing more rounds if you want. I can appreciate the challenge of working with the luck of the roll, but it can also be potentially frustrating especially if you have a terrible roll when others have fantastic rolls. Also because of the luck of the roll every game will be different, so it has great replayability. I also like the extra challenge that the timer adds to the game, even though I’m not the best under pressure. The game might also be a bit frustrating if you’re not good at spelling (or playing with those who don’t spell as well), so to avoid frustration I’d suggest playing with others who are equally as good at spelling. We played with a 7-year-old and a 13-year-old, and even the 13-year-old misspelled. However, there are 3 optional variant rules for younger players so that you can include younger kids. We played with 2 of the 3 options for the 7-year-old. One of the options gives younger players a different way to score. I found that that scoring system was WAY in the favor of the 7-year-old, so I don’t think we’ll play with that rule next time. It’ll take some trial-and-error to see what works best for your particular group of players. I also like that there’s an optional variant of the game where you can play with a “sugar cube” dice to help gameplay for the player with the lowest score each round. I like that the game comes with score sheets as well as a link to get more to print off when you run out. Do note that shaking the dice in the cups is pretty loud. I wish Dice Words came in a box rather than a bag. It comes in a “box” in the store, but it’s not a storage box. Having it be in a box would make storage so much nicer! Not only would it be easier to store because a box is more stable and stackable, but it would also look much nicer on a shelf next to all the other boxes. Overall I’d give the game 3.5 stars. I was gifted this game in exchange for my honest review.

Fun Word Game
This game is for 2-4 players, ages 8 & up. My family really enjoyed the game because it gave us a chance to be creative with our word choices, while still being able to keep the game short if we were short on time because players can decide how many rounds to play. My youngest (age 8) found the game to be more challenging, especially playing with more experienced word game players, so I would suggest having fairly evenly matched players to keep the competition fair. The game does include modifications in the directions for younger players. As someone who likes word games, I definitely enjoyed a new twist to word games with this new one!

Cute game! Firstly, this game is very aestichically pleasing. Secondly, it's so cute! I was drawn to this game because I enjoy word games and am a huge fan of boggle. Everything you need (minus a pen/pencil) is in the bag (no bulky box!!!!). The purpose is to make words using your dice and hopefully matching 1 or more of the drink dice in the center of the table. Even if you have younger kids, you can easily adapt the rules of the game to make it more about learning and spelling new words. Caution for sensory overload, the dice being shaken in the cups can be loud, you can easily fix this by rolling the dice by hand. No two gameplays will be the same since there is an element of chance/randomness with the rolling of the dice.

Fun word game
I received a free product in exchange for a review. My family enjoys word games. This was no exception. It’s fast-paced and fun trying to outdo each other. While I didn’t enjoy doing all the math to figure out the points, it’s a good game for all ages.

Super fun game
This is a fun family game. It is great to get you thinking. The only bad thing about the game is using the drink cups to roll the dice can be loud with 4 players.

Fast paced, fun and a twist to a classic word game. I like that it can be played with just 2 players which is what I did, but also can be played with up to 4 players! I can’t wait for more game nights with this game!!

Easy Family Fun!
Absolutely loved trying out this new game! A fairly easy to learn "wordy" game that the whole family can enjoy! I loved all of the themed pieces that made it such a colorful game. 5 rounds take around 20 minutes with a group up to 4. BONUS favorite part was that there are multiple variations to play to make it a little easier for the younger players to enjoy!

Dice game
Dice Words is a spelling game combining a bit of Yahtzee and Scrabble together.Players roll their own colored dice at the same time and try to make the longest word possible to get the most amount of points before time runs out. Our group didnt find this game was that fu though. The two minute timer was too long and the scoring has three different things to calculate was confusing. I did like the jest of it but the scoring part could be different. Would still recommend to others who may like it

This was a fast game and started out fun but the scoring was too complicated for my tweens and even when I played with adults again the scoring was difficult. This is more for those who love word games.

Fun and easy storage
We love games we can play as a family or with friends, and I'm especially fond of word games. Thames & Kosmos sent me this product to try. I admit it is definitely a keeper! The rules are simple. Dicewords is fun (and educational, shhhh...). Bonus... you don't need to keep a bulky game box. Everything stores right in the enclosed drawstring bag. Dicewords is great for any age as long as they can spell. 😉

A simple, quick, portable word game
This is a great twist on the idea of word yahtzee. You roll seven dice with different letters to make the highest scoring word, while trying to match multiplier dice in the center. It’s simple, quick, and more challenging than it looks on the surface. The only downside is that the theme feels a bit random and not really incorporated heavily in the gameplay. This product was gifted to me in connection with this review by Thames and Kosmos.

This word game was really fun. It was easy to learn. We enjoyed that there was a limit of re rolls! Loved the added sugar cube for the lowest scorer at the end of each round.
