Book Synopsis
**FROM THE ILLUSTRATOR OF MILDRED L. BATCHELDER HONOR AND USBBY OUTSTANDING INTERNATIONAL BOOK RECIPIENT A SLEEPLESS NIGHT**
Accompany Mr. Archibald on a fantastic feline excursion through the city, where wonder and adventure are around every corner, if you just take the leap. You may just land on your feet!
After moving from the countryside with her family, a young girl tries to make sense of her new life in the city by confiding in the best listener she knows: her cat, Mr. Archibald. She grumbles about the challenges of city life--buildings and streets that all look alike, the people she perceives as unfriendly--and fantasizes about running away. But Mr. Archibald has other plans...
When he jumps after a bird in the widow, Mr. Archibald sets out on a grand tour of his sprawling new home--from the plaza to the park, and everywhere in between--exploring the hustle and bustle of city life from every angle imaginable. Featuring layered and textured illustrations that leap from each page with humor and charm, The Cat reminds us that hidden wonders are everywhere if you leave yourself open to curiosity and discovery.
