About the Book

ONE MAN HAS SPENT FIFTY-FIVE YEARS EXPERIENCING THE GLORY OF GOD DOING EXACTLY WHAT HE SAID IT WOULD DO.

It all began when Sid was a twenty-nine-year-old stockbroker at Merrill Lynch, chasing the one goal he'd set for himself: to become a millionaire by the age of thirty. The closer he came to achieving it, the emptier he felt. Looking for an edge, he signed up for a New Age course that promised hidden knowledge through a "spirit guide." To his astonishment, it worked. The voice answered questions he hadn't asked out loud. It seemed to open doors nobody could explain.

THEN IT TURNED ON HIM.

The voice that had fascinated him began tormenting him by cursing him relentlessly. He stopped sleeping, terrified that if he closed his eyes, his spirit would leave his body and never find its way back. Desperate for help, he turned everywhere he knew. A psychic couldn't help him. A mind-control instructor had no answers. His own rabbi would likely have sent him to a psychiatrist. Nobody could help him because nobody believed it was real.

One night, out of options, he put a Bible under his pillow and said the only prayer he had left: "Jesus, help."

When he woke up the next morning, the torment was gone. Sid didn't yet have words for what had happened. Years later, he would understand that it was his first encounter with the manifest Glory of God, a Glory that would become the defining reality of the next fifty-five years.

That was the first unmistakable evidence that God had intervened.

WHAT FOLLOWS IS THE STORY OF EVERYTHING THAT CAME AFTER: fifty-five years of witnessing God do the impossible. Sid watched miracles unfold with his own eyes, and thousands more were reported by people who watched his TV show, It's Supernatural!, from their own living rooms.

  • A woman whose spine had been deformed by scoliosis since childhood was instantly healed, her back straightened after Roth prayed on camera.

  • A man's forty-five-year-old neck injury regained complete freedom of movement during a live interview.

  • A viewer's persistent cough disappeared the instant she touched her own throat, following instructions from an episode filmed eighteen years earlier.

  • A doctor's hepatitis B diagnosis was reversed and confirmed negative by a blood test.

  • A man bound by a ten-year cocaine addiction was completely set free in one night, from one prayer, watched alone on a laptop at 2 a.m.

Roth didn't go looking for most of these stories. They came to him, unsolicited, from strangers whose experiences echoed his own.

AND THAT IS WHERE THIS BOOK BECOMES MORE THAN A MEMOIR.

After watching God keep His word for more than five decades, Sid came to a remarkable conclusion: the miracles were never the destination. They were evidence that God is faithful to every promise He makes.

If God has kept His promises to one man, He will keep His greatest promises as well, including the promises He made to Israel.

Sid believes we are watching those promises unfold before our eyes. The long-awaited spiritual awakening among the Jewish people has already begun, and it points to something even greater still.

The same God who changed Roth's life in a single night is still revealing His power today and inviting you to experience it for yourself.

The Glory Story is the testimony of a man who has spent fifty-five years watching God keep His promises, and an invitation to discover what He may want to do in your life too.

Book Synopsis

About the Author

Sid Roth did not set out to become one of the most recognizable voices in Christian television. For most of his twenties, he was building a different kind of life, one measured in commissions and quarterly numbers as an account executive at Merrill Lynch, a life that looked successful from the outside and felt, to him, increasingly empty. What he lost in the years that followed wasn't his career. It was his sense of control. A search for meaning that led him into New Age practices cost him his peace of mind, his sleep, and very nearly his marriage, before a single desperate prayer in the early 1970s gave him back all three.

He has spent every year since paying close attention to what he calls the debt of that recovery. In 1977 he founded Messianic Vision, initially a radio broadcast, built on a conviction he has never revised: that the Gospel was always meant to reach the Jewish people first, not as a theological technicality, but as the hinge on which reaching everyone else depends. When that calling expanded into television in 1996 with Sid Roth's It's Supernatural!, he built something unusual in Christian broadcasting, a program willing to sit with claims most networks wouldn't touch, healing, deliverance, prophetic encounter, and to let the people who experienced them tell their own stories without a script.

What it has cost him is harder to quantify than a ministry balance sheet. Roth has spent fifty years being the person willing to ask the questions other believers were taught not to ask out loud, and to keep asking them long after it would have been easier to soften his message for a broader audience. He has stayed, by his own account, undercompensated relative to what his ministry has built, and unmoved by the parts of Christian media culture that prize polish over substance. What he has kept, across five decades and more than thirty books, is the same claim he made the morning after his first encounter with God: that the supernatural described in Scripture was never meant to end with the apostles, and that he intends to spend whatever years remain proving it, one testimony at a time.
