Truth hidden in darkness always comes to light, and secrets with it. Sins always find you out. What an incredible story! A lost soul with two very good friends. Out of the blue, there is an identical twin sister. The mystery has just begun, and the questions come with it. I must admit, I had to go back and reread some of it, to finally figure out what was going on - at least sort of. We are all a bunch of messy, broken people pretending that we know what is happening around us. An ebook was received through Harlequin and NetGalley. These impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.
A fantastic book full of suspense and intrigue!

Wow! What a fantastic book! The writing is pure genius. There are so many twists and turns and surprises that popped up everywhere. My jaw literally dropped by the time I was at the epilogue. Mind blown. The characters are written brilliantly! Charlotte is like yin and yang. She's almost constantly fighting the darkness. Tillie is one of my favorites. She is tender hearted, compassionate, and loyal. Detective Christian Patrick is kind and endearing. He has a keen sense of finding the truth, and he pursues it. Acelynn, Biance, Teddy, and Ford - well, I hope that I never meet people like these in real life. There are some difficult issues brought up. Abandonment, murder, betrayal, and deception. But, there's also hope, the realization of being loved and a promise of a better future. I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from Harlequin via Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I am giving The Other Sister a five star rating because, if I were a fan of intense psychological thrillers, this would be a perfect book for me. It is well-written. The plot holds many unexpected twists and turns, especially just after the half-way point. The problem was that it was a bit too psychologically intense for me even though it is a clean read. Around the sixty-five percent mark while reading on my Kindle, I had to bail because it was more than I could handle. I did jump to the ninety-seven percent mark to see how everything fell into place at the end because, as we all know, it almost always does. This ending was quite satisfying for one character, but left quite a cliffhanger for another. Might a sequel be in the future? I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of The Other Sister from Harlequin via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

The Other Sister is a dark and twisty thriller that stayed with me long after I finished the book. After the death of her mother who was an addict, Charlotte discovers that she has a twin sister who was given up for adoption. Acelynn has the kind of life that Charlotte has dreamed about and after a tragedy, assumes Acelynn's identity. Author Jessica Patch has written characters that hide their evil underneath a shiny veneer. Charlotte has a faithful friend from her old life and an incorruptible police detective who shines true light into her life. The plot is filled with twists that blew me away, and just when I thought it was over--BAM! There came another huge one. I highly recommend this book to psychological thriller readers, especially those that enjoy a character being redeemed by the end. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley and am sharing my opinion of this exciting and very well-written novel.

In 'The Other Sister' author Jessica R. Patch does what she does best—pens a chilling, haunting tale filled with plenty of twists and turns! Have you ever envied someone else's seemingly perfect life? Charlotte Kane yearns for a different existence, especially when she finds out she has a successful twin sister who has everything she doesn't. When circumstances enable Charlotte to assume her twin, Acelynn Benedict's idyllic identity . . . is everything as it seems in her sister's perfectly polished world? I couldn't help but think "be careful what you wish for" while reading this book filled with sinister secrets, betrayals, and deadly pretenses. Warning: While the premise of this book is cleverly intriguing, this one may be too dark for more sensitive suspense fans. It was more of a twisted thriller and way "over the top" creepy—even for me and I've read many frightening suspense novels over the years. Although not graphically described, there were many allusions to liaisons between different characters. This is something I don't care for (to this extent) in my Christian fiction reading. Nonetheless, Ms. Patch is definitely a brilliant suspense writer and if this doesn't bother you, give it a try! *I received a complimentary ARC of this book from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review.*
