The mystery deepens when an infant hybrid is kidnapped, and the child's serpent can telepathically take over Rachel's serpent as it seeks help in protecting the girl. As this serpent wreaks havoc with Rachel's free will, she is turned into a predator at the whim of another, becoming dangerous to herself and to others.
