Tyreek Mcdole - Open Up Your Senses (Vinyl)

With Open Up Your Senses, his highly anticipated debut album, Tyreek McDole makes a bold statement as one of the most compelling young jazz vocalists of his generation. A rich baritone with a deep connection to the jazz tradition, McDole draws inspiration from legendary predecessors like Johnny Hartman and Leon Thomas while carving out a distinctly original voice. His collaboration with exceptional musicians - including pianists Kenny Barron and Sullivan Fortner - brings an adventurous spirit to the album, blending classic jazz influences with innovative harmonies. McDole brings forth introspective themes, with a repertoire that stretches beyond standard love songs and delves in the realms of philosophy, heritage, and cultural reflection. From his striking interpretation of Thelonious Monk's Ugly Beauty to the powerful chant-like resonance of The Creator Has a Master Plan, McDole delivers a deeply expressive and contemporary musical experience that urges listeners to engage, reflect, and truly open up their senses.
