Most Art Stix and similar stick-style art supplies are labeled for ages 3 and up; a smaller number of items list 5 years and up.
Tempera paint sticks are shown as suitable for poster paper, regular paper, cardboard, wood, canvas, glass/windows/mirrors, eggs, rocks, pumpkins, and seashells.
Some Art Stix sets include reusable travel or carrying cases; others are sold in multi-packs or as card sets designed for classroom use.
The main materials shown are water-based tempera and wax. Some sets also include paper cards or combine wax with yarn in craft kits.
Wax-based sticks are described as soft, pliable, and tactile. They are reusable, can stick and be repositioned on surfaces, and are often promoted for sensory/fidget play and fine motor activities.
