Cheese mats are supportive training surfaces intended for backbends, somersaults, handstands, rolls and other tumbling skills. They’re used in gymnastics, cheerleading, martial arts, dance, home training, and children’s physical development to provide a safe, cushioned practice surface.
Most cheese mats use a high-density EPE foam core for support and rebound, covered with a textured, non-toxic PU top layer. They typically feature a full-wrap waterproof PU cover (and sometimes polyvinyl-listed outer materials) for durability and easy cleaning.
Cheese mats fold flat into a compact cube for storage and usually include integrated carry handles so they can be moved easily between storage and practice spaces.
After vacuum-packed shipping, the mat typically requires about 24–48 hours to reach full foam rebound and regain its intended shape once unpacked.
No assembly is required—the mat simply unfolds and expands after unpacking. If shipped vacuum-sealed, allow about 24–48 hours for the foam to fully rebound to its intended shape.
