The card holders and inserts are sized for a standard 3.5" × 2" gift card or folded cash. The cash-cake stand is designed to hold up to about 20 rolled bills.

Assembly is minimal: money cards typically need adhesive peeled, cash rolled or folded, and a plastic dome attached; the cash-cake kit requires inserting cake layers and securing them with the included adhesive dots.

Many sets include premium white envelopes and pull-out inserts with pre-cut tabs to hold a gift card or folded cash. Some money-card kits include plastic domes with peel-and-stick adhesive backs; cash-cake kits include adhesive dots and occasional stickers. Note that gift cards and cash are not included.
