Decals most commonly use self-adhesive (peel-and-stick) backing for direct application. Framed art and metal signs usually include wall-mount hardware such as sawtooth hangers or integrated hanging mechanisms on the back of the piece.

Counts range from single-piece signs to multi-piece sets (examples include 7-piece sets and 20-piece sticker collections). Individual decal elements are often small (about 2–6 inches), while larger decals and framed prints commonly measure in the teens up to the mid-30s of inches.

Decals are typically made from PVC or vinyl. Wall art materials include metal (often for vintage-style signs), printed paper or paperboard in frames, polystyrene or plastic frames, solid wood frames in some pieces, and shatterproof plexiglass used as print protection.

Common subjects include script phrases and inspirational quotes, modern abstract figures, floral motifs, humorous vintage text signs, and movie-ticket–style prints with quoted text.
