Most modern bone china sets are sold as service-for-four or service-for-eight. Listings commonly label sets "Service For: 4" or "Service For: 8."
Modern bone china ranges from classic white pieces with gold rims to floral patterns (yellow and gray), bold bird-and-floral art, and blue-and-white Delft-inspired designs.
Common decorative details include gilded or gold rims, scalloped and ribbed edges, and subtly rounded silhouettes.
Typical sets include dinner plates, salad plates, and bowls. Some sets also include mugs.
Dinner plates in the listings generally measure about 10.5–11 inches across. Salad or side plates vary more across products; the available listings show sizes roughly in the 7.75–10.5 inch range, so check the specific product for exact dimensions.
Listings often describe these sets as suitable for housewarmings, holidays, and weddings. At least one listing specifies the set is presented in a boxed gift set.
