The guide covers the major elementary education domains: Reading and English Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, and The Arts/Health/Fitness. Each domain includes detailed subtopics (for example, reading comprehension and analysis in ELA; U.S. history and civics in Social Studies; arithmetic, data, and geometry in Mathematics; life and physical science topics in Science; and arts, health, and fitness foundations).
The NES Elementary guide is 431 pages long and measures 11.0 inches (H) × 8.5 inches (W) × 0.93 inches (D).
Practice tests are offered in multiple formats: printed practice questions in the book and online interactive practice tests. For example, one guide provides three online practice tests and includes one printed test in the book, while other guides may simply include plentiful printed practice questions.
The guides include step‑by‑step video tutorials or links to online review videos designed to break down topics, demonstrate problem‑solving steps, and reinforce difficult concepts introduced in the book.
Answer explanations are presented in depth, with each solution explained to clarify the underlying principles and reasoning so you can understand both the correct answer and the method used to reach it.
Mathematics coverage includes Numbers and Operations, Statistical Analysis/Data, Algebra and Functions, and Geometry/Measurement. Each area is reviewed with relevant subtopics and practice problems to build skills tested on the exams.
