Switched from the Work Summit’s to these Boondocks
I’ve only been wearing these for 4-5 days, so keep that in mind, but they seem great so far, and definitely well made. I’ve worn strictly Timberland Pro boots for the last 14-15 years and I work in the trades where I’m on my feet 12hrs a day. My boots are usually on my feet from 7am-10pm. I went through probably 8-10 pairs of the Pit Boss and then switch and went through 3-4 pairs of their Work Summit boots in wheat until they discontinued them, which I think was a big mistake because they were awesome boots. These Boondocks were the closest looking boot I could find to the Work Summit’s that Timberland makes so I figured I’d give them a try. They’re just as comfortable as all of their other boots that I’ve worn. My one complaint is that the toe seems a little too wide. I had to double check to make sure I didn’t order the wide model by mistake or that they didn’t send me the wrong ones, but they’re def the regular width model, so I guess their regulars are just this wide. I’m used to looking down and seeing the profile of the pit boss or work summit regular width models, so I feel like these look like I’m wearing clown shoes when I look down, haha. I definitely have more side to side room in these than I did in the other models in the regular width, where I can move the part of my foot around the ball of my foot is side to side about a 1/2”. In those other models they hugged that part of my foot and the boots were able to kind of form to my foot. But it hasn’t caused me any fatigue or been uncomfortable yet. Other than that, the boots seem great so far. The width of the front of the boot is the only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. I think if they were a little thinner and closer to the profile of the other 2 models I mentioned earlier I would’ve given them 5 stars. Also, I changed the laces out with the yellow/brown laces because the white laces that came with them kind of stuck out and didn’t look right, so in my photos those aren’t the laces they ship with.
