    If you call it vanilla shea butter, stick to that

    This body wash, I think could be fantastic, if it was what it was named to be. Vanilla and Shea Butter are both things I like. Both are mild and soothing. This is overwhelmed by the flowery perfume. It smells like someone said something offensive to the lady at the perfume counter. I can't tell whether it is psychosomatic or if I really am about to break out in an itchy rash. There is nothing ephemeral about this odor. 24 hours after my shower, it still smells like the perfume lady's revenge.

    missed the mark

    Dove is a good brand when they focus on freshness and congruency to the consumer. This misses the mark majorly. I love shea butter and vanilla, but this is reminiscent of neither. The smell is way too synthetic and the packaging is misleading with similar products..I want an unscented shea Dove product, is that too much to ask??? :(

    I use Dove Body wash everyday and had been dreaming of a truly vanilla scented version. I was thrilled when I saw this launch! However, honestly, it’s worse than my worst fears. It starts off like a Vanilla cupcake candle scent: vanilla dessert with a super strong waxy/oily note. In the candle, the waxy/oily note makes sense (literally candle wax), in the body wash its unexpected. As I lather it up and use it it becomes a strong buttered popcorn scent. It’s almost salty like a pretzel dipped in butter. I think they were going for a salted caramel vanilla scent, but it does not work. It is super strong and makes my whole bathroom smell like a movie theater’s floor with spilt popcorn, pretzels, vanilla-ish candies, and waxy floor polish. Dove, why would you release this? T.T Please give us a true vanilla. A soft vanilla note that smells pretty and makes us feel clean and cuddly after bathing. Please, please, please! I love you and you are better than this.
