A: Yes, it does leak. The urine runs from the high back to the front then onto the floor. Had to use a plastic tote with a hole cut in to avoid this.

A: Yes it absolutely leaks. It leaks significantly if the latches aren't locked down, but even then it still leaks. It runs down the seam to the entrance and drips out there. You have to clean out that pathway along the joint constantly. But it still drips out. I've resorted to a silicone matt with raised edge a little bit bigger than the box width and length (an under sink leak protector matt is what I use, fits under the box perfectly) AND I put some type of absorbent pad under the front drip zone (like pet pee-pads but, TBH, feminine pads are better because they stick on and are more targeted to the drip spot, plus they are cheaper). That's how I make mine usable. I wish there was a better option though than taking all these mitigations to combat leaking. Here is an idea, update the design! Target has been selling this same box, unchanged since 2009, when I first bought one, probably even longer than that. A tweak to the mold to give a lip in the joint would solve the issue.

A: Ali, I'm guessing the entire cat box goes into a larger plastic tote with a hole cut for entry.

A: Mine came with a carbon filter. I assume it can be replaced since it is removeable. You would just have to know the dimensions of the filter, which I don't, sorry.

A: Top fits over the bottom. If it’s not fitting, the clips might need to be wiggled up or down to get them seated properly. Once the lid is fully down on all sides you can close all the clips.

A: Disagree with staff support. Back of box very high, looks almost 2 feet high. Only way to line with liners is to put it in box and not anchor down, then cat will pull the liner down and huge mess

A: Yes and no. My large cat seems to spray urine on the back wall. This runs down and pools along the lip of the lower box. While this is definitely not ideal, it does not seem to leak to the outside and just stays on the lip where I wipe it off when scooping.
