    When I bought this it came in a clear bottle as a milky water and didn't tout any of the active ingredients listed on the purple bottle's label. Didn't care for it. Either it didn't do anything for my density or made my thinning issues worse. Made my scalp feel really gross and I would look super greasy like I hadn't washed my hair in weeks. Would leave a residue on my fingers after applying. Fragrance was a heavy cucumber deal that I didn't care for but managed to tolerate. Whatever man

    HATE THIS NEW PACKAGING. I just found this product right before they changed the packaging and loved it! I was so happy to finally find a product that hydrates my scalp/hair without being too messy and drenching my hair. Welp, this new packaging has brought the messy factor back. I used about 1,735 tissues on my first use just wiping all the residue that oozes out the top all over the bottle. To add insult to injury, when you push down the top to get product in the tube it gets the tiniest bit of product which makes the application product even more cumbersome, it Takes forever to get product all throughout your scalp without being too the little bit that gets in the tube. Dove really messed up with this one, go back to the old packaging, the formula was/is enough…you don’t need to “prove” this is a good product with pretentious packaging that doesn’t even work.

    Adverse reaction- do not recommend for dry or sensitive scalp!

    I got this hoping to use it to get some fullness back around my temples. I have issues with dry dandruff but figured that maybe it would help. Boy was I wrong! As soon as that serum dried it caused very large flakes. My scalp is now very raw and itchy, so I won't be using it again.

    Using in conjunction with hair growth treatments

    4 stars only because I can’t say it is actually growing my hair. I’m using minoxidil 5% because my hair is thinning. Like- my ponytail is marker size thick. I used to have hair for days- curly. Menopause hit me hard. My hair won’t take a curl under any circumstance. Hair itself is thin and now it is falling out and breaking because I am on glp1 medication. Oh- it doesn’t help that a year ago I went blonde to help hide the greys. So between bleaching, being old, and losing a bunch of weight, my hair looks like donkey droppings. Hence, minoxidil. Which makes my scalp itch so badly it’s not funny. Enter Dove hair serum. I don’t think it makes my scalp greasy, but it doesn’t matter because the minoxidil kinda does. But it sooooothes my scalp and helps with the itch. For that reason alone I buy it. Maybe it works, too, but I kind of doubt anything that isn’t prescription strength would. I hear people going on about castor oil- I’m just skeptical. Anyway, I like the scent. I wish the dropper held more than 1/4 full, but I do use the three dropper dose almost nightly and I like the product enough after one bottle to be ordering it again right now. I recently started taking GHK-CU, or copper peptide injections daily, and that is supposed to take three months to really see results. Maybe I can stop the itchy minoxidil then and just use the dove serum. I definitely think it feels good on the scalp even if it isn’t technically growing hair. At less than ten bucks, it’s worth a try to see how you like it.

    Fantastic Serum in a Bottle

    Thank you chemists in the laboratory for making this serum. My left side of my hair was thinner than my right side. I followed your instructions routinely for 7 weeks. IT WORKED! My hair is now even on both sides and now I share the good news to friends, family, or anyone in the shampoo aisle. Thank you again for taking the time and energy to create such a good product. The only recommendation that I would change is the scent is too strong. Please scale back the perfume or no perfume at all would work in the serum.
