super cool doll
this doll is even prettier in person than in the marketing photos. it's true that her face paint is less opaque than the pictures suggest; she's actually got the same pale-white overlay for the skull makeup that last year's Dia de Muertos doll (Esperanza) had. her eyelids are painted blue to match the makeup around her eyes. the candle is permanently affixed to the candle-holder. the flowers in her hair are glued to two alligator clips that are sewn in place (no plastic ties! rejoicing! joy! finally!) which makes it easy to take them out without damaging the gorgeous factory hairstyle. the ribbon trim is sewn on all the way around the dress, and the ribbons on the sleeves are velvet. the only part of the dress that isn't also on the back is the pink ruffle at the neckline, but everything else, including the ruffle in the lace neckline and the ribbons, is also on the back of the dress. the shoes are the same mold as last year's. if you have Esperanza, she and Catrina coordinate really well and can share clothes and hair accessories and look great. I wasn't sure if I wanted Catrina when I first saw her, but now that I've got her, I'm delighted. and regarding the state of the box, well, I don't keep the box so I don't care lol. the backdrop inside the box looks cool but it's AI-generated anyways.

I was happy to get this, Our Generation Dia de Muertos Catrina Doll 2026 😊... The doll box does have a few imperfections, like so many other customers mentioned, but doesn't affect the excellent condition of the doll... The outside shipping box from Target 🎯, was good so I am thinking warehouse/distribution center/store level storage contributed to the condition of some of the boxes, mentioned in some reviews... However it is not any worse than, some I have seen online and at a wayyy higher price...

Beautiful doll, but.......
The doll is beautiful. I really love every aspect of it. But as a collector I am VERY disappointed/upset that I can't display it as I returned it the same day it was delivered because the doll box was damaged due to the way it was shipped. The doll box itself was wrapped in a plastic bag then placed in a shipping bag instead of a box. The box is torn in several places and it is also smashed. Too bad they don't have any stocked in the store.

Target damaged the box, put packing tape directly on the box and ruined the print as well as damaged all the edges by not packing carefully. The doll herself does not look as described. The white face base makeup was barely visibly on my doll. Her face was like a slightly grey tint, not the full on makeup look shown in pics. She's still very pretty, but not at all as shown

Pretty doll, terrible handling
The doll is very pretty and everthing you'd expect from this brand. I personally have never purchase one of these dolls before, but I am a collector and I like to collect Dia de Muretos items. Unfortunately, whoever was handling this box, bent and tore just about every edge of the front opening, and bent the top of the box. I was planning on displaying her in the box, but now I will have to return her and hope that I can get one when they are in the store and I can inspect the packaging for defects. Otherwise, this would be a lovely additon to a child's toy collection.
