Be aware of shrinkage, loose threads

I really like the look of the runner, with natural fabrics. However I bought it because of its long length (9 feet) for when my dining table is extended. The first time I washed it, using the package directions (cold water delicate wash, tumble dry low) the length shrank by a full foot. The width shrank for about an inch. Likewise the matching placemats shrank from 14x19 inches to about 12x 17. For me the 8 foot length will still work but with much less overhang than I was hoping for. Just be aware of the shrinkage if you buy these and want to be able to wash them. I’m also concerned about the very loose, long stitching on the back. (These are not reversible). Hoping that doesn’t pull out over time.
