Q: What is the compression part of this product? How does it work?

A: Look at the photo gallery for a "wide" zipper around the sides. Basically you'd stuff the bag full of something squishy like socks, compress the bag, and then zip it to keep everything bundled tight.

Used for one 7 day vacation, and washed once after before storing. Tore in my gentle front-load washer. Washed with clothes without anything metal (no buttons, zippers, etc). I’m careful with washing, so this is disappointing.
