Beatrix Potter loved the countryside and spent much of her childhood drawing and studying animals. The Tale of Peter Rabbit, published in 1902, was her first book, expanded from an illustrated letter she had sent to a young friend. Beatrix Potter went on to publish more than 20 tales and collections of rhymes.

Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Peter!

I gave my grandchildren this book for Christmas! It sat unread until I arrived in mid January. Ok a 3 and 4 year old have short attention spans and like big bright pictures. The pictures are small and softy shaded. By the end of my 2 week visit my grandkids could name Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Peter when prompted. I love Beatrix Potter’s stories and hope my grandkids will love all the stories too.
