Description

a2 Milk®, Ultra-Pasteurized 2% Reduced Fat Milk is deliciously smooth cow’s milk. a2 Milk comes from cows that naturally produce only the A2 protein and no A1. Published research suggests a2 Milk may help avoid stomach discomfort in some people. All cows originally produced only the A2 protein. A natural change occurred over a thousand years ago, which caused the A1 protein to appear as a genetic variation. Today, most milk comes from cows that produce both A1 and A2 protein in their milk. But our a2 Milk comes from cows that only produce the A2 protein. Feel the a2 difference!

Q: Do your cows spend all their life in the barn or do they have free range time?

submitted by Chele - 5 years ago
  • A: The humane treatment of animals is of the utmost importance to us. All our farms are trained and audited for the humane treatment of animals by Validus. Our cows are not treated with growth hormone rBST.

Q: Does this milk contain phosphorus?

Q: Is this milk non gmo?

submitted by Oz - 6 months ago
  • A: Except our Grassfed milk, some of our cows’ diet could include GMO corn. An adequate diet that is free from any genetically modified ingredients is hard to come by in large quantities in the USA. We require that our farmers feed their cows an all-vegetarian, plant-based diet and are independently certified by the Validus Group for animal welfare. Our a2 Milk® Grass Fed is Non-GMO Project Verified.

Q: Is this casein free?

submitted by KK - 9 months ago
  • A: Hi there, all a2 Milk® products are not casein free. There are two main types of beta-caseins: A1 and A2 beta-casein protein. Most cows’ milk sold in the US naturally contains a blend of A1 and A2 proteins. Our milk is sourced from cows that naturally produce only the A2 protein type and no A1. Q: Is this low fat milk

submitted by TanD - 11 months ago
  • A: Thanks for your question, we appreciate hearing from our customers! Our 2% Milk is reduced fat and has 44% less fat than Whole Milk. It is not considered Low Fat Milk, which would be any milk with 1% fat content or lower. At this time, we don't have any plans to add 1% milk to our products. However, you can follow us on our social media channels for exciting product updates!

Q: In a question above, you stated this is not a UHT milk, but your label says "ultra-pasteurized." Isn't that UHT milk?

submitted by DFR - 3 years ago
  • A: While similar, our milk is Ultra-Pasteurized (UP) which means it is heated to a minimum of 280f, and held for 2 seconds. UHT is where milk is heated to temperatures between 275f-300f for a minimum of 2 seconds then its cooled.

Q: is this milk homogenized ?

submitted by gwery - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi There - Yes all a2 Milk® products are homogenized to blend the natural fat found in milk, throughout the fluid portion of milk so it doesn’t separate when it sits on the shelf.

submitted byThe a2 Milk Company - 3 years ago
    Brand expert

Q: Is this milk 3.25% homogenized?

submitted by Lilly - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi there, our milk is 3.5 %. We add a little extra to cover the California requirements. Homogenization is a process used to blend the natural fat found in milk, throughout the fluid portion of milk so it doesn’t separate when it sits on the shelf. Homogenized milk generally has a longer shelf life than un-homogenized milk. Most milk available in the US is homogenized.

Not bad! I'm pretty sure I'm lactose intolerant, but lactaid milk and pills don't help. I don't seem to have much problems with this milk though! Glad I can enjoy my lattes without the worries!

We brought this straight home from the store and stuck it in the fridge. That evening we opened it to try it out and it smelled sour straight from the carton. I tasted a little and it was completely bad. We returned it to the store. Really bummed and really weird because the date said December and we bought it middle Of November.

Rotten milk. I usually don’t buy this brand, but they ran out of the Target brand. I was quickly reminded why we stopped buying this milk 3 yrs ago. My son who is not lactose intolerant got sick with diarrhea and nausea from this milk. At the time I thought maybe he just had a weak stomach. But here we are 3 yrs later and my husband tried it and it was rotten. For the price, this isn’t worth it.

[NOTE: This was an in-store purchase and I always transport cold groceries home in a cooler with blue ice in hot weather.] This A2 2% milk had an off taste and flavor upon opening. Upon further inspection, inside of container was coated in black film & black mold inside plastic cap. Discarded. Never had this occur with prior A2 Whole Milk over last 5 years.

I used to like this milk a lot until I got bad batches a few times. My toddler complained of a bad taste after I gave her a newly opened one. So, I took a sip and it was sour! But it wasn’t expired per the box date. I returned it to Target and got a refunded. This happened a few times.

I had ordered 5 but got only one. There was an offer "Save $15 when you spend $75 on Food & Beverages ". When I ordered the total was $105.15. Since 4 cartons of milk had to be taken off the total due to unavailability, it became $87.99 which is still more than $75 requirement to get $15 off. But I got only $12.56 instead of $15. When I called, the rep was very rude and said she is not going to change to $15 and told me supevisor was unavailable.

We have been purchasing this milk for a couple months now on and off with horizon. Today I opened a fresh container (not set to expire until May) and it was ROTTEN! I don’t drink milk but bought it for my 1 year old. I have it to him on 3 occasions today and he did not drink it. I thought it was weird but I finally tried it on the third try and it was the most disgusting thing I ever tasted. I felt so bad for giving it to him and not trying it sooner. Not sure what happened with this batch.

I was initially skeptical about it helping aid digestion, but it really does. I can drink this milk without any tummy issues. And it tastes better than most other milk brands. Only complaint is that is pricey, so I usually stock up when it's on sale.

I have purchased this milk on and off for the last 2-3 years. Usually it taste good and doesn’t upset my stomach. So long as I’ve purchased and used the milk before a week prior to exp date and within four days after opening, it’s been good. This is the first time I buy it in months (not many have stocked it) and it does NOT taste good. Has an after taste and mixed taste that makes me think it’s gone bad or it’s not made the same. And the exp date is 21 days out. It’s pricey because it’s supposed to be good but at this point, I’ll probably pass. I purchased and opened two, thinking it was me, but the milk is actually off putting. Will reconsider when needing different options for my kiddos and myself.
