The handle feels nice and sturdy, and the scooping part makes picking up piles of leaves a lot easier. It definitely works best with dry leaves. When we tried using it on heavier, wet leaves, the plastic started to bend a bit, so it’s not really built for heavy-duty cleanup. But for regular fall yard stuff, it gets the job done. We were a little worried at first that the button that holds the scooper together might get pressed by accident while using it, but that hasn’t happened so far, seems to stay locked in just fine. All in all, a good rake if you’re mainly dealing with dry leaves and want something a bit easier on your back.

So in a single movement, I can take my leaves and lift them into a lawn bag. So far it has proved durable through several afternoons of yard work. It appears very well made and I have no doubt it will last several seasons.

I like that it is very light weight so I don’t have to worry about further wrist issues. The assembly is pretty easy also took me seconds . The only thing I think should improve overall is the material used for the Rake itself . Very easy to break due to it being plastic . Other than that I would highly recommend this product to anyone that is open minded about using this 2-1 Rake .

I don’t have many leaves in my area but I used to on my dry grass that I use for my compost and garden and wow was this helpful! I loved that I could use this in two way and without doing much heavy lift or work! This rake is nice it covers a large surface area and gives me the ability to pick up a good amount of the grass too! One thing I disliked was that the tip of the rake itself was quite flimsy and not as sturdy as I would have liked! But did still do the job!

It was easy to assemble it together, just need to connect all three of the handles together. The tool is big, designed for heavy duty job. However, due to the premium metals on the handle it feels a bit heavy while holding it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Ames Flip Scooping Leaf Rake is nifty yet flawed. I like that the handle comes apart for slightly easier storage. It is metal with a solid grip handle. When it comes to actual raking… the tines are very flimsy. I cannot imagine trying to rake a yard of leaves with this especially being as some got wildly tangled with crabgrass and I feared the crabgrass would win. The flip to scoop feature is pretty cool however! My husband used it today for mixing cut grass into the chicken coop layer. So raking? No. Scooping? Yes.
