I normally love Swedish candies but these were disappointing. For one thing they are a lot smaller than I thought they'd be and they were more tough and chewy than I had anticipated them being. They're almost like when marshmellows get harder from contact w/air or stale.

They’re a Swedish classic, and getting to enjoy them here brings back wonderful memories of growing up in Sweden. 🥰🇸🇪 Of course, not every candy is going to be everyone's favorite, and that's perfectly fine. The cleverly created cute compact cars unfortunately lack the melty tenderness needed for excellent gummies!
The density & the foam "lightness" would be significantly more accurately labeled "malleable gel" and/or "squashiness" that has some rubbery resistance— which might be unexpectedly chewy too those not introduced to Sweden's "marshmallow" gummies. The "squashiness" should not be confused with the matching root word utilization in the name for the significantly softer, more supple Squashies from the United Kingdom. Personally not a Swedish gummies lover— those that were expecting more Squashies texture will be disappointed. The vehicle shapes are in abnormally long proportions, extra skinny, which only enhances the harness. These lean towards the density that is found in Bubs (understandable since these are also Swedish) & the Mark & Spencer's Percy Pigs.

My Childhood in a Bag
These slightly chewy marshmallow cars might not be for everyone, but just the smell of Ahlgrens Bilar takes me back four decades in a split second. The texture is not the texture that most American born people expect from a marshmallow type of candy, but it’s the way it’s supposed to be. They are not stale, I promise! You just have to work for it. The flavor variety has been debated in Sweden for as long as I can remember. Do they really taste different, or are they all the same? Try it for yourself! 🙂

I thought they would be like squashies but they’re not, they’re very chewy and kind of taste cardboard-y but in a good way? not too sweet. kind of like a really stale fruity marshmallow. really chewy though, thats the only thing I don’t love. maybe avoid if you have issues with your jaw…
