This feeder is perfect to feed the butterflies and also the bees

I decided to use this to feed a Monarch butterfly 🦋 that arrived late. It loved the nectar and I found that you should keep the butterfly at least two days before release so they get stronger and eat. This worked out great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is cute and easy enough to put together, but I haven’t seen a single butterfly attracted to it. If anything, it just attracts sweat bees. I followed the instructions and recommendations closely and stuck it near flowers, but here we are three weeks later and NO butterflies. Lame.

Coastal NC. Had the feeder for about a month. Overwhelmly, small sulphur butterflies at this time, and we have yet to see one the feeder. They feed on pink or red flowers next to the feeder, but fly around the feeder avoiding it. I expect white cabbage butterflies soon, maybe they will feed on it. There are a few black swallowtails, but they stick to a nearby weed patch or feed on lantana on the other side of the house. BTW, ripe banana quickly hardens in the sun and does nothing to change the results. Other than failure to attract our butterflies, the feeder is as adverstised.

The feeder is easy to put together and take apart for easy cleaning. It’s light weight so you can hang it virtually anywhere. I love it!

I do have a large flower garden; maybe they prefer the real thing? Might be better in a more urban setting with scarcity of a food source? I was not pleased.

This makes it so they come around a lot more. It is simple to use and you can use nectar feed or very ripe fruit. I have used both and they love it. Another great feature is, it keeps bees out of it. I have mine hanging from a bird feeder pole. I clean it out before every refill, just to make sure nothing is growing instead of it.

It is lightweight, easy to assemble and fill and is easy to rinse clean before refilling. The hanger hoop fits over a shepherds hook and not so open that it falls off in the wind. I have noticed several butterflies in the garden since adding this where I usually see very few all summer.

The inclusion of fruit trays is a brilliant touch that attracts not only butterflies but also other delightful creatures. The 12 oz. nectar capacity ensures a constant supply for our fluttering friends. My only observation is that, in the hot Texas sun, the water in the feeder tends to evaporate quickly. However, despite this minor issue, the joy of watching butterflies and birds flock to the feeder is simply magical!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a pretty butterfly feeder! It is bright yellow and looks so nice hanging in my garden. The concept is similar to a hummingbird feeder in that you fill the feeder with liquid butterfly food purchased separately) and wait for them to come. They land on top of the feeder and drink through the tiny holes in the top. There is a small reservoir in the top center that you fill with water to ward off ants getting all over it. The bottom is clear so you can easily see when to refill. It is a made with good quality plastic that seems it would last season to season. Such a pretty addition to our outdoor space that brings butterflies visiting!
