Inconsistent IR readings

We bought two. The IR temps were acceptably close for home non-commercial use. Our test was not scientific. Low temp was "tested" pointing at a glass beverage glass with ice water. The two devices were within 6ºf. High temp comparison was aimed at a coal in the wood stove. Both devices peaked and read "HOT". When directed to the exterior steel of the door, the results were within 7ºf. That's pretty good I would think for a non-scientific comparison. I do not recommend any product or service to anyone, ever. That is why my ratings are "Fair"

Great Invention

This is a great idea. Besides getting the instant-read thermometer, you get an infrared measure as well. Great for checking grill temperature.

Great Addition

Great addition to grilling, knowing that the temperature of your grill is the exact temperature you desire and with the probe getting the internal temperature of your meat.

Trash

Complete waste of money. Used it 2-3 times before it stopped working. Total time owning this about 2 months. Crap.
