Boursin Shallot & Chive Cheese - 5.2oz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried Boursin Shallot & Chive on a grilled top sirloin steak and it worked really well. I cooked my steak on an indoor grill, then wrapped it in tinfoil and slathered a generous scoop of the cheese on top while it rested for a few mins. The Bourisn softened and got creamy but didn’t completely melt or run off, which actually made it feel more like a flavored cream cheese than a traditional butter. The texture out of the package looked a little clumpy and I was worried it would crumble or fall apart when I scooped it, but it stayed fairly intact and was easy to spread over the hot steak. The flavor is on the milder side… you get a nice oniony shallot and chive taste without it being overpowering, and it paired really nicely with my steak, roasted mini potatoes, pan-roasted carrots, and stir fried veggies. It added a rich, savory finish without taking over the whole plate. After eating, I checked the nutrition label and was a bit surprised at how rich it is: 120 calories and 12 g if fat per 2 tablespoon serving, with 7-8g of that as sat fat, plus 2g of protein and just about 1g of carbs. It’s basically a high fat, low carb dairy treat, so for me it’s something I’d use as an occasional topping or party cheese rather than an everyday spread. Overall I really enjoyed the taste and creaminess and loved it as a steak topper, but I’d be mindful of portion size because it’s easy to eat more than you realize.

The texture is super creamy and easy to spread, and Boursin always delivers a nice, rich cheese spread. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's really creamy and had a big herb flavor right out of the container. I mixed it with tomatoes, chicken, olive oil, and seasoning and baked it. After it was done, the flavor was kind of lost with only using one box. Next time I'm going to get two and see how much of a difference it makes. Once it was done I added it to pasta and it was delicious!

In Europe we have think made from cow milk called farmers cheese. In USA it may meant different things unfortunately. But if you are from Europe this taste like Gerwais or similar flavored farmers cheese. It's delicious and healthy

I tell everyone I talk with about cooking to purchase this spreadable cheese. The flavor is perfection. I have to control myself to not eat the whole thing myself! I use it on charcuterie boards and people always ask what it is. I also use it in my cooking. This particular flavor tastes so good in stuffed mushrooms. I also love the consistency when it’s melted on top of chicken breast. It makes its own creamy sauce without all the extra ingredients. I’ve gotten everyone in my family hooked on this cheese. It’s great since they all report back to me on their creative usages. Happy to have discovered this at my local grocery store!

Love Boursin cheese and this flavor is excellent! My favorite way to prepare it is with pork tenderloin or chicken breast and serve with vegetables and quinoa. It’s light and flavorful!

Deliciously creamy. Delectably moreish. Such a flavours e and gorgeous cream cheese. Had with water biscuits so as not to add in any other flavours!
