Great book! My husband does not work in Law Enforcement, but he was in the military, and experienced similar internal struggles. We have been married for over 30 years and thankfully have high emotional intelligence which has helped us with resiliency. I highly recommend this book!

Excellent book for anyone who loves a first responder

As a retired dispatcher I was interested in this book. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves not just an officer but any emergency service personnel including dispatchers. It provides insight into the jobs what they see and how we react. Sometime it's hard to articulate the feelings you carry with you and the choices you make. It's a long road and with your loved ones having a better understanding it can help a lot. That understanding for the things that can never be unseen or unheard can help you come out the other side whole instead of broken.

Although written for LEO's, this book can be used by any emergency responder. The ability to look beyond the moment and self-heal are spoken about with a definite nod towards putting your faith and trust in a deity. I'm not religiously minded, but anything that can get people talking about what happened, what is still bothering them, and seeking help is a good thing!

Broken and Blue is a good start to dealing with internal pain and overcoming situations that still prey on your mind. Let's continue to help each other, LEO, Fire, EMS, Dispatch, and military.
