The Butterfly Timo J FL Blade is a perfect first blade for children ages 4 to 9 years old. This all-wood blade gives good feedback for players that are learning basic stroke techniques and how to hit/brush the ball. Designed with smaller/younger players in mind, the Timo Boll J FL has a smaller head and shorter, thinner handle. All of this keeps the weight down, making it easier to swing and train repetitively without easily fatiguing. For those that have progressed a bit more and seek more speed and spin, the Sriver family of rubber would be a logical progression.
