Q: what is the size of the lens that doesn't have a cap?

submitted by bree - 4 months ago
  • A: Hi, thank you for reaching out about Camp Snap Video Camera CS-VC8. The Camp Snap CS-8 (also listed as model CS-VC8) does not come with a physical lens cap, leaving the front element of the lens exposed. The outer rim on the front of the camera features a standard \(37\text{ mm}\) filter thread size, making it easy to snap on a generic \(37\text{ mm}\) lens cap or attach physical filters. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

    Great item!

Purchased for my daughter’s wedding, my other daughter was able to record some special moments of this day as a gift for her and her husband- the video is vintage but we love it so much, great to have to use for future family events/vacations

    Make a Movie!

I love my Camp Snap video camera. I just finished a BnW Sci-fi with mine. I combined it with real 8mm film footage to make a 7 minute silent movie. My dige, i believe, is first gen. Great fun.

    No 24fps?

Sad there’s no 24fps option. If you can do an 18fps option, you could have done a 24fps…esp if your pushing that “super 8 aesthetic”.

    Amazing Camera

Mainly made of plastic but good for the price and what you get from it. Video quality exceeded my expectations. They look like they were taken in the early 2000's. Very cool that it is also digital and I can import the videos to my phone easily.

Would buy over and over and over

This camcorder is very user-friendly, easy to change settings/filters, makes you present in the moment without a phone, and all the nostalgia we were looking for. Being able to make our own "home videos" that both my wife and I watch of us as kids has been amazing.

Loved the camp Snap 8 camera!

I use the Super 8mm analog filter most often with the 16x9 cinematic aspect ratio. I brought on a camping trip and used the filter to film b-roll footage of some rural areas. Perfect for filming horror movies if you're going for an exploitation look similar to a "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" astheitc. My ONLY nitpick, it that there is no focus pull, which defeats the purpose of even having zoom buttons.

    Nearly perfect!

I recently went on a vacation where I was able to leave my phone at home and only use my new Camp Snap video camera and camera. What a delight and relief to be without my phone for a time. I really like the STD filter (def my fave) and the analog filter (although I've learned it's pretty soft so I don't use it when I'm wanting someone to be super in focus). The other two filters aren't to my liking but that's ok. My only negative feedback on this that (not always but mostly), at the start of the video, there's a little deep pitched click, which I assume is made when the trigger is pulled. I wish there was a way to make that not happen. My other feedback is the trigger sticks so that I have to push it forward with my finger to stop the video.

    Great addition to my workflow

I couldn’t be more inlove with the CampSnap products even if I tried. I now own the most fun approach to my creative flow in my work day. Everyone talks about it and everyone loves it. I shoot film and Super8 - although I stay true to the analog process, these products have created one more layer of immediate fun that adds to the aesthetic in 35mm and super8. Thanks.

The PERFECT digital Super 8 replica

We run The Traveling Twosome (www.TheTravelingTwosomeShow.com) and have added the CampSnap CS-8 to our mix of cameras this year. We run a radio show that has the vibe of a classic 1980s FM morning show and we produce retro style videos, as well. Adding the CampSnap CS-8 to our lineup of cameras lends an air of authenticity to our productions while still allowing us to easily utilize modern post production techniques with ease. The built in filters are better than I expected, to be honest. And the simplicity of the CS-8's design is the icing on the cake. We will definitely be using the CS-8 in many of our productions as this camera exceeded our expectations! OUTSTANDING and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We are eager to promote this camera to our fans when they ask!

    amazing quality!

I bought this because I loved staying present and being surprised by the moments we record. I used this camera to get our guest POV of our wedding reception, family events, and slice of life moments. It’s very nostalgic, aesthetic, and I always love how it feels to look back on what was recorded.

    You should probably buy this.

Put your phone down and stop living outside the moment, for real. Forget asking others, grab one for yourself. Trust me, the analog filter is the best and will make for a great contribution for my crews filming going forward.

My eight year old is a film maker on the rise!

My eight year old grabbed a stuffie off their bed and shot a short film about a bizarre world where the stuffed moose didn’t know if they were awake or asleep and eventually needed to free fall to possibly wake?!? The audience is left hanging and my kids are completely hooked. They edited and created credits, bloopers reel, and added music easily with their dad on his computer and felt complete artistic ownership of the project. The second movie they made with Barbies and American girl dolls was shot and edited completely independently!!! I’m shocked!!! They also grabbed the camera as we left the house to visit our new born niece because, of course we needed this special moment documented! The camera allows everyone to remain in the moment. No one stops. Everything remains candid. We love it. 100%.

    Terrible battery life

I love my camera, but the battery life is very bad. My camera will charge for hours and after 3 videos say "low battery" and then not record.
