Danby DCF070A5WDB 7.0 cu. ft. Square Model Chest Freezer in White

Bought 9 days ago and am pleased with the size, I like the idea of a drain and compressor light. Those features were not on my old freezer. So far I can say its a 5 star

Since we've only had this chest freezer for a little more than one day, we cannot comment on its longevity. But what we can say is that it cooled down quickly, it appears to be high-quality construction, and was received with no apparent damage. We can also comment on why we chose this particular model chest freezer after many months of research. The capacity was perfect for my wife and me, but we had nowhere other than the garage to put it in our small townhome, and this model was Garage-Ready and boldly listed as such. We've insulated our overhead garage door, and we've had foam insulation injected into the block walls of our garage, so it definitely stays below 110°F even on days when the temperature is 90°F or more outside. Although other brands' models sort of claimed Garage-Ready, their reviews frequently told another story. The indicator light for the power is nice, but the light for the compressor caught our attention as something worthwhile. The lid staying open on its own was an attractive feature, as was how close the back could be placed to the wall, leaving enough space to pull in our vehicles and still leave room for accessing the freezer. The "D" pipes that increase the pipe's cooling surface area were something none of the other brands had, and made a lot of sense to us. The rollers on the bottom right made it super easy to put it where we wanted it, and the adjustable feet on the bottom left allowed us to easily get it solidly level. The 48-hour power outage protection, while hopefully never needed, gave us a strong indication of the quality of the insulation and will certainly contribute to lower utility costs. And, finally, it was the only model of the 15 models we compared that included a 5-year Parts & Labor in Home Warranty—All of the others were just 1-year Carry-In. And, that said a lot! As we narrowed our in-depth comparison down, it became apparent that the Danby Model #DCF070A5WDB was well designed and constructed, and the best choice for us. Then, Home Depot came in with an awesome price that clinched the deal. We look forward to many years of service from this chest freezer.

I upgraded from a 20 year old 3.5 cft chest freezer to the Danby DCF070A5WDB and I'm loving it so far. With the footprint comparison to my old freezer you wouldn't think I've doubled my storage capacity, but I have! Runs quietly. I appreciate the lights on the front letting me know when the compressor is running and giving me peace of mind at a glance. The extended warranty is a fantastic bonus.

The freezer is working great! Light weight and easily moveable if need.

Have a previously purchased 5 cubic foot Danby chest freezer that is 4 years old and we've had no issues. Decided to purchase this one for my Aunt and Uncle for their garage as we have had a great track record thus far with Danby products. We also have a 4 year old fridge which is excellent.

A great addition to our house. We left our old one in our previous house and this is great to have. WE can now take advantage of some of food sales.

I love the freezer, froze foods very fast, very quiet I can't hear anything when it runs, very spacious, price is very reasonable. I wish if it can come with 2 wire baskets instead of one.

Recently purchased this model to replace an old 25 year old chest freezer. Can't comment on it's longevity, but it's noticeably lighter and easier to move than our previous one despite being of similar size. I have high hopes that this will be the last chest freezer I will ever need.
