About the Author

Hideko Yamashita was inspired by the yogic philosophy of dan-ko (refusal), sha-ko (disposal), and ri-ko (separation) during her student years. Drawing from this, she developed Danshari as a practical, self-help method for decluttering your life--both physically and emotionally. Today, she shares the message of Danshari through her many books, tv appearances, radio, magazine and newspaper interviews, and online media.
