Dritz Snap Pliers Green

I bought this trying to repair a Pendleton men's shirt. These were pearlized snaps. All I needed to do was put a new male snap and the prongs together. Nope. The male part fit like a glove, perfect. Now for the prong. The prong (not Dritz brand but same size) would not fit into the yellow adapter. The videos made it look easy. My fingers were poked and bleeding trying to get the prong snapped in. Remind you they are 7/16's just like the instructions said. Finally I gave up and made dinner. I came back and for the heck of it I opened a Dritz package of 7/16's to see if it would work. Sure enough it snapped right in. Why isn't this a universal tool? I wish the packaging would talk about comparable snaps. Now I know. Not happy I wasted time and have punctured fingers trying to figure this out. If it is used with Dritz products I will recommend it; non-Dritz no.
